[BY CABLE.] [rkuter's telegrams.] THE GRECO-TURKISH FRONTIER. London, May 30. The Marquis of Hartington, Secretary of State for India, lias addressed a communication to the Times to the effect that there is no foundation whatever for the statements recently published that the convention in the settlement of the frontier difficulty with Turkey has been signed by the Greek Government. The latter, Lord Hartington states, has not up to the present time agreed to the terms of the Convention. GERMANY SEEKING COLONIAL TRADE. Berlin, May 30. Prince Bismarck has presented a memorial to the Reichstag, urging that a subvention be authorised to a line of steamers -with the view to the extension of the trade between Germany and Australia. LONDON WOOL SALE. London, May 30. At the wool auction to-day, 7560 bales were offered. The tone of the sale was iirm. LONDON MARKETS. London, May 30. Consols remain at 102-|. New Zealand 5 per cent. 10-40 loan is 105 ; New Zealand 5 per cent, loan, ISB9, is 105 j New Zealand 4-J- per cent; 1879-1904 loan is 103. Adelaide wheat, ex warehouse, is 495. New Zealand wheat is 455. Adelaide flour, ex . warehouse, is 33s 6d. Australian tallow: Best beef, per cwt., is 34s 6d ; best mutton is 375. SHIPPING. [PER MERCHANT SHIPPING AND UNDERWRITERS' ASSOCIATION.] London, May 28. Arrived: The ships Hurunui, from Wellington, on 3rd March; Canterbury, from Port Chalmers, on 20th March.
COLONIAL SEWS. A VESSEL WRECKED. Sydney, May 31. A telegram has been received from Woollongong, a seaport about 60 miles south of Sydney, reporting that the barque Queen of Nations, of the White Star Line, has been wrecked on the coast a short distance to the north of that place. The captain and all the crew, except one seaman, have been saved. The vessel is bumping heavily on the sand, and is expected to become a total wreck. She left London on February 25, and was bound for Sydney. H.M.S. BACCHANTE. Mklbouhne, May 31. H.M.S. Bacchante will leave King George's Sound next week, and will effect the further repairs on her arrival here. SUEZ MAIL. Melbourne, May 31. Arrived : The P. and O. Co.'s steamship Bokhara, with the inward Suez mail dated London, April 21. SHIPPING. Sydney, May 31. Sailed: The Union Company's steamship Wakatipu, for Wellington.
