LATEST FROM AFGHANISTAN.
[PER SUEZ MAIL.] Bombay, >lay 6. TnE territory of Southern Afghanistan, to be lefc in the occupation of the Ameer, ia now in the hands of his representatives, General Hume having withdrawn the last of his forces to Chaman. Eighteen guns, and a quantity of rifles, presented by the Govornmen to the Ameer, have been sent to Kandahar. Already ruptures have occurred betweed the inhabitants of Kandahar and the Ameer's forces, the former refusing supplies without payment. Reports still continue contradictory respecting Ayoub Khan's position and movements at Herat. The last intelligence states that he has lost; confidence in the Herat troops, all of which arc being disarmed and disbanded. The Kahicdahar regiments at Herat, nominally three, arc described as being very weak in numbers. All information, however, is regarded as very unreliable, although the Wazirs have submitted. The British expedition has been ordered to march through the country as-a display of force.
