MR. ALFBBD BDCKiA.ND'B WEEKLY BEPOST. At Mr. A. An unusually large number of horses were yarded, being principally from tVanganui, and of a usoful stamp, although the bidding was lanpuid. With few exceptions, all were eatisfactorily disposed of at pnoos ranging for medium draught and light colts, £12 to £25 ; useful harness horses, £13 los to £21; li?ht haek«, £S to £10, and several wollbred wuiyht earners ranging as high a» £30. At the Haymnrket, on Tuesday last, hides were iu full numbers, and of exceptionally good quality. Prices were rather lower than have lately ruled, taking the quality into account, md ranged from 2?d tD 32d the lb. Sheepskins were in averaje supply, and maintained their value, they brought from Is 9d to 2s 5d each. Wool, 6jd to 7|d the lb. Tallow, 19s the cwt. At Pokeno, on Monday, about 70 cattle were yarded, mostly calves and yearlings, and tho»e were readily * bought by the settlers in the neighbourhood. At Drury, on "Wednesday, there was an unusually large st.le of all description* of stock. For young cattle and quiet cows near calving, there were many buyers, and more stock were required. Grown cattle ' were comparatively dull of sale, and many withdrawn, although the bidding was fully higher than has lately ruled. At Remuera, oa Thursday, a full supply of dairy cattle met with a steady demand, at an advucco oh late prices. Store cattle were also in full supply, and better bred than usual. Fifty head two-year-old steers brought an average of £5 13a Gd. Fat cattle were in lees than usual supply ; 120 head yarded. Bidding was dull throughout, although last weeks value* were fully sustained.' Tnferiorly fatted I cattle were at 225, but well fatted agad oxen from 25j to 27s the lOOlba. Sheep were in moderate supplv—44o yarded ; last week's values, 2jd to 2Jd the lb. for wethers," was tha ruling price. Pigs of. a good class were at;ain iu full number, but at lower values ; the large number of pigs recently brought forward has checked the rise that might otherwise have occurred in the price of cattle. : if EB3BS. HUNTBB AND NOLAN'S WEEKLY EEPOIIT. Herses.—The holidays have materially affected the live stock market, and comparatively little business has been done. The sale held on Saturday was rather a quiet affair, less than the average number having been entered. Bidding was slow throughout the sale, and a smaller number than usual changedhands, at no noteworthy alteration in value. Cattle.—The supply has been limited, but the demand steady. Dairy and store stocks were unaltered iu value. Top aorta of fat beasts were at last week's quotations, but for animals insufficiently fattened vendors had to submit to a slight decline. Sheep.—Thero was by no means a large supply, but prioes receded as compared with last week. Although the competition was steady throughout the Newmarket sale, prices receded 4d per Slbs. Lambs were very scarce. Pigs.—Very few yarded. ■
