ARRIVAL OF THE TARARUA AT RUSSELL.
[BY TELEGRAPH. OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] Russell, Wednesday. The s.s. Tararua, Captain Garrard, left Sydney at 9 p.m. on April 14, and experienced light fresh, variable winds and fine weather. She arrived at Russell at 6 o'clock this morning. On Sunday, the 17th instant, a child bix months old, named Mary Atkin, died of convulsions. She was buried at sea the same day. Passengers: —For Auckland : Messrs. Park (3), Berber (2), Anderson, Laurie, Russell, Pleise, Herries, Ross, and IS steerage. For Napier : Mr. Yates. For Wellington : Messrs. Cotter (3), Freeth, and Duncan. For Lyttelton : Messrs. Pryar, Hamilton, and 2 steerage. For Port Chalmers : 3 steerage. For Bluff: Mr. Rodgers. Later. —The s.s. Tararua sailed for Auckland at 4 p.m. Passengers: Messrs. Ponder, Hall, Cooper, C. Lucas, Davis, Taiwhanga, Taharanga, Mrs. Grey, and others.
