Spofforih and Macdonnell went first to the wickets, the score standing at two wickets down for 18 runs. Robinson and Fulton opened the bowling. White carried his bat out for 3. The innings closed at 2 p.m. for 83, iraking a grand total of 132, and leaving the local twenty-two 84 to tie, or 85 to win. After luncheon the Australians took the field, Spofforth opening the bowling. The spectators became very excited when it was known that one more was wanted to tic. A snick in the slips brought the score to a tie, amidst a round ot cheers. The winning hit was made by Bayley, by a crack to squareleg, and the match was won by one run and ten wickets.
