ODDFELLOWS — INSTALLATION OF OFFICERS.
.Ax'installation of officers in the.Loyal Star of Auckland Lodge, No. 26, 1.0.0. F., American Constitution, took place last night in its lodge-room. The D.D.G.M., Brother John Hughes, accompanied by Brothers Paterson, P.G:, W. Marshall, N.G., Morrison, P.G., Keesing, G.C, Cambie, G.S., N.G., Thwaites, G.T., arrived at 5.30 p.m. for the purpose of the installation of officers elect, when V.G. Brother Pennal was installed N.G.; Brother. Humphries, V.G., Brother Daryal, Secretary ; Brother Butler was re-elected Treasurer. The N.G., Brother ; Pennal- then appointed the following officers :—R.S., N.G. Brother Thomas ;L.S., N.G. Brother Cameron; R.S., V.G. Brother Dell; L.S., V,G. Brother Hill; Warden. Brother Harvey ; Conductor, Brother Power; Brother Keesing, Chaplain.; R. and L.S.S., Brothers Best and Shaw; 1.G., Brother Whiting ; 0.G., Brother Mandeno. After which the N.G.' invited those present, after closing the lodge, to assemble at a banquet given by the officer installed. The table was laid in Mr. Cairns' usual satisfactory style. After partaking of the good tilings provided, N.G. Penual took the chair, supported by D. D.G.N. Hughes on the right, and P.G. Brother Falconer on the left. V.G. Brother Humphries occupied the vice-chair,- supported by P.G. Brother Patevson on the right, and Brother Secretary Dargal on the left. After "The Queen and Royal Family" had been proposed "The Retiring Officers and those Newly Installed" was given. ;P.G. Falconer and P.S. Paterson responded for the retiring officers, .and N.G. Pennel, N.G. Humphries, and. Secretary Dax-yal for those newly elected. Brother Keesing proposed "The D.D.G.M." D.D.G.M. responded. Brother Hughes proposed " The Health of the Loyal Pride of Newton Lodge." Brothers P.G. Morrison and N.G. Thwaites of that lodge responded. Between the toasts songs were given. P.G. Paterson proposed "The Grand Lodge Officers," which was responded to by the D.D.G.M. "Absent Brothers" was proposed, after which "The health of Brother McCalsky" was drunk and responded to by Brother McCalsky. "The Host and Hostess" was proposed Hughes and responded to by Mr. Cairns in his usual happy style. The rest of the evening was spent in a social and convivial manner.
