DRURY.

The usual children's treat was held here on New Year's day, aucl was largely attended, although, a similar gathering took place in' tlie neighbouring district of Papakura on tlie same day. On Sunday, the 23rd of January, the Rev. T. .Novrie preached a very impressive discourse, from Psalm xii. and Ist verso.. " Help, Lord, for the godly man eeaseth ; for the faithful fail from among the children of men," in which special reference was made to the late Mr. James Comrie, of Pukekohe East, who was well known and deservedly esteemed and respected by all in this neighbourhood. A considerable numbejfrom this district showed their respect by attending the funeral, and we all sympathise with the family in the great loss sustained. The loss is also deeply felt in the new charge of Pukekohe and Pokeno, and also in this-'

district, where he often officiated at communion services, and ; 'did so, 'on a very late occasion, so -that- the : event" .came : very . suddenly'upon us. : : : ', ,: '.'.' ■"■'■'. •"■ , ' The annual meeting of the Driiry^Presbv- , terian congregation was held in tlie churchy on'the 27th January—the,TLev.
