The Union Co.'e steamers in harbour flew their flags half-mast high today as a mark of respect to tho late Henry Tcwsley, lato chairman of the Dunedin Harbour Board, who died there on Friday. December 27.—Tho ship Bebington, from London, arrived last night, and was immediately taken to the quarantine ground by tho pilot. She has 130 passengers. The Harbourmaster and Health Officer have just returned. Scarlet fever broke out ten days after leaving London, and the ship has not been clear since. One child died. There are two other cases on board. It is believed a largo number of passengers will be allowed pratique in a week's time. Arrived:' Wellington, from the North. Sailed: Rotomahana, for Auckland. Passengers : Blisses Williams (2), Goold, Stock, Mesdames Brookßeld, Johnston, and two boys, Erskiue, Gallagher, Messrs. South, Osgood, Clayton, Wright, Johnstone, McDonald, Boardmnn, Fisher, and Ransfietd. LYTTELTON. December 27. —Arrived: Hawca, via East Coast; Hill, brigantine, from Stewart'e Island. The Hawea returns to Wellington and Auckland to-night. The Huia e&ils for Kaikoura tnd Wellington to morrow. TIMARU. December 28. — Arrived : Ladybird, from Dunedin. » DUNEDIN. December 27.—Arrived : Eliza Mary, brigautine, from the Mauukau ; Jessie Niccol, schooner, from Macquarrio Island. 2Sth, 5.»., Oreti, from the Bluff. Sailed, on 27th: Alexia, barque, for Guam ; Waitaki, for the North. Passenger (for Lyttelton): Mrs. Banks.
