RECEPTION OF PASTOR CHINIQUY.
O.v Saturday evening a prayer meetiag was hcl.l iu the Bchoul-room of the Pitt-street Wesley an Church, the object of the meeting, as stated in the advertisement, being "to invoke tho Divine blessing on Pastor Chi-r-iquy aud his work in New Zealand." The Rev. Mr. Morley presided. A number of suitable hymns were sung from lloody and Sankcy's collection. The Kev. Messrs. Webb and Long, and Messrs. Seabrook, Cox, and Brame took part in the proceedings. Mr. Brame read a portion of a letter which he had received from L'aator Chiniquy during the week, in which he asked for the prayers of the people of Auckland. Pastor Chiniquy will arrive in the Hero, which is expected in harbour from Sydney early this morning. He will give a series of lectures in Auckland and adjacent districts, and will afterwards mike a tour in the Southern parts of the colony. A meeting will be held thin afternoon, at the Choral Hall, to welcome Pastor Uhiaiquy, which will be attended by clergymen of various denominations and other friends. Pastor Chiniquy will no doubt receive a hearty and enthusiastic reception.
