AUCKLAND AND WAIKATO RAILWAY.

The new time-table for the Auckland and I Waikato Railway and the branch line to I Onehuuga has been published, and comes j into force on the Ist April. The only ma- j terial alteration from the time-table at present in force, is in regard to the goods j trains, and we are glad to see that the railway authorities have re-considered their l decision as to sending only one through passenger train from Auckland to Ohaupo. The passenger trains leaving Auckland at 7 a.m. and 4.15 p.m. will run through as usual; the morning train arriving at Ohaupo at 12,57 p.m., and the evening train at 10.20 p.m., instead of 10.10 p.m., a3 per the present time-table. This is only so far as the despatch of passenger trains from this end is concerned, but a very material ohange has been made at the other end of the line. According to the new timetable, the morning passenger train which has hitherto been despatched from Ohaupo at 6.50 a.m. is dispensed with, and that which leaves at 1.20 p.m. is retained, so that there will be only one north passenger train, although there are two Bouth. Goods trains will be despatched from Auckland station daily at 7.30 a.m. and at 2.10 p.m ~ but these only go as far as Mercer, but a goods train to which a passenger* car is attached will leave Ohaupo each day abSa.m., arriving in Auckland at 2.44 p.m. A change has also been effected in the Auckland and Onebunga branch line. The train which hitherto left Auckland at 9.10 a.m. has been altered to 9.5, and that which left at 11 o'clock is dispensed with, except on Saturdays, when one will be despatched at 11.15 a.m. The 12 o'clock and 2 o'clock trains are retained as at present, and also the 4.15 and 5.30 trains, bub the 3.10 train is dispensed with. Corresponding alterations are made at the other end. The Sunday trains are not altered, but the only extra trains on Saturday will be that despatched from Auckland at 11.15 a.m., and that from Onehunga at 7 p.m. It will thus be observed that numerous alterations have b;eu made, which it would be well for the travelling public and settlers generally to make themselves thoroughly acquainted with, in order to prevent inconvenience and annoyance. As regards the Kaipira lino, we have only to add that the south train leaves Helensville at 7.30 a.m., arriving at Kiverhead at 5.50 a.m. ; and the north train leaves Kiverhead at 5 p.m., except when the tidal service requires that it should be detained, when it will be des patched at 7.30 p.m. There will be only one train each way daily.
