JpROSPECTUS OF THE CO-OPERATIVE MEAT SUPPLY COMPANY. The object of the Company is the supply of wholesome Meat to shareholders and consumers at less than can be done by private establishments FOR C A.SII, or guaranteed short accourts. Ihe nominal capital of the Company is £4000, in 4000 shares of £1 each, 10s of which will only bj called up. Arrangements will bo made to secure suitable business premises and an eflicicnt manager. Credit will only be given to shareholders, auu only to the extent of the value of shares held, thus providing against the possibility of bad debts. The saving thus effected will, it is estimated, be sufficiently large to pay 10 per cent. interest on capital invested, and a bonus of 10 per cent, to consumers; and good wholesome Meat at a less x>rice than c.m be done on the credit system. No Shareholder will be allowed to hold more than 100 shares. . Above 1200 shares have already been disposed of. A shareholder of the Mahurangi Co-operative Society also writes "I fully believe in the system, and feel confident, where properly and economically managed, ' there can be no doubt of its success," A gentleman connected with the Wellington Co-operative Butchering and Cattle Dealing Society writes:—"lt will prove a great success, and similar companies will eventually be established in all the large provincial towns. The Secretary of the Company some time ago started a Co-operative Bread anil Biscuit Business on the above system, which has not only been the mean 3 of reducing the price of bread, but also of making many of our old-cstabiished mea retire from business."
