MESSRS. BUCKLAND AND MAY AT WAIUKU.
To the Editor of the lli:!: w.;>. i-'r;.-, —For the credit of Waiuku's political con.-i.--t-.-ncy will you kindly permit me to point nut to the writer of the leading article in y.nr issue of Monday last, that our members were accorded a unanimous vote of tir. iks-at the close of their addresses and not of confidence, as inadvertently slated by him ii: the leader referred to ? Of course, by AVaiuku's political consistency 1 mean, that as Mr. Buckland supported the Cove.-.inient and Mr. May the Opposition upon the most momentous question in New Zealand's short but eventful history, the passing of a vote of confidence by the W'aiuku electors would have been what Mr. Disraeli terms a "brilliant paradox," not likely to be perpetrate! by the generally shrewd denizens of that locality.—l am, &c., F. lE. Tuorp. Auckland, October 27, 1574.
