SUPREME COURT.- IN BANK RUPTCY.
THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 14. [Before Lougblin O'Brien, Esq., Registrar.] The usual fortnightly sitting was held today, und the following easee disposed of:— Ke Or. E. Q-. Jacksok.—Mr. J. B. Russell appeared for the bankrupt, described na a mariner and eupercurgo of the schooner Clio, trading to New Caledonia. The liabilities were set down at £135, and asaeta £35. 'Xhe biuikruptcy ns attributed to the fact of the petitioner having entered upon mining transactions and speculations which turned out unfortunate. There was no opposition, and the petitioner received bis discharge. He AbelFmtcheb. —Mr. Keetley appeared for tne bankrupt, who is a contractor. The liabilities were set down at £270. There were no as-sels. There was no opposition, aud the bankrupt was discharged. Re Miciiaei, Haystan. —Deed op Aβbangexient.—Mr. Kliot Meyer appealed for the arranging debtor, who is a tobacconist. Tlio liabilities were set down at £1536, assets £560. The arranging debtor had by deed aasiijned the whole of his estate for the benefit of all Ijm creditors. Under the 283 rd section of tho Act, 1867, it is provided that upon the assignment of the whole of tbo ealnlo for the benefit of all creditors, those residing out of tlie colony shall bo bound by iho majority in number representing three-fourths in value. There was no opposition, and the deed of arrangement was declared completely executed.
