Drunkenness. —Seven persons were fined lor j tliis offence. _ I Lakcekt.— John Wilson was charged with j stealing a watch oil the Oth iust. 'ibo ease j was remanded for a week. Municipal Police Aci.—Horace Bishop, for allowing a horse to stray in Ponsonby j Road, was fined la and costs. City By-Laws.—George Wardell, for keep* ing a goat on uncncloaed laud, within the Jitnitß of the city, was fined 1b and costs. Doe NUISANCE ACT.—Seven persons were fined for allowing their dogs to be at larye without having registered tickets affixed to them. Transfer op Publican's Licence.—An application was made for the transfer of the licence for the Pacific Hotel from Maria Sullivan to Matthew Nolan. Tho necessary doeuraenta were put in and read, and the notice of the application had been duly acivertised. Tho transfer of the licence was recommended by tho police. The application was opposed by Mr. Greenway,on the ground that the said "hotel and premises Lad been occupied without his consent or approval. As this objection was simply a matter for a civil action, it could not be entertained by the Bench, and the application was granted. Mabrikd Woman's Property Protection Act.— Under this Act an application made to the Bench for a protection order, and the usual questions haviug been answered in the affirmative, the application was granted.
