The Ashantees — 30,000 to 40,000 strong —have advanced upon Cape Coast, and the King of Ashanlce has expressed a determination to retake Eluiira, the capita! of the Dutch settlement. New York, May 9. An armed resistance against the payment of taxes has been mace in Louisiana, and Kellogg has telegraphed to Grant that the Stale is drifting into revolution and anarchy.
