HOWICK.
A MeETIKG of the electors in the district of Howick was held, pursuant to advertisement, at Brady's Hotel, Howick, yesterday evening, at seven o'clock, to take into consideration tho policy pursued by Mr. Kerr, tho representative for the Pensioner Settlements in the General Assembly. Dr. Govett was called to the chair. In opening the meeting, he called upon the electors of the Pensioner Settlements to stay in the room, and all the drunkards to go out. He referred to the action taken in the session by the gentleman whom they had done the honor to return as their representative in the Assembly. An immense uproar here arose, which the Chairman found impossible to put down, every one seeming desirous to hear himself speak. The Chairman consoled himself with a pipe. Finding it impossible to obtain order,' the Chairman vacated the chair.
It was ascertained that none of those who were electors were instrumental in raising the row but it must be observed that the previous day was pension day. Wo leave the public to draw their owa conclusion. "
