WEEKLY SUMMARY. We have no foreign arrivals to chronicle since our last Summary. A large number of vessels have arrived from the Southern provinces ■ and the ooaßt, with grain, fruit, gum, &o. On Saturday last, the b ; s. Lord Ashley arrrivei from Wellington and Napier with a quantity of cargo transhipped from Sydney and Melbourne steamers. The schooner Tawera on Sunday night from Poverty Bay, bringing a cargo of grass seed and fruit. On Monday last, the barque Lion arrived from Oamani, with a full cargo of wheat and oata consigned to Mr J. S. Macfarlane The schooner Fortune arrived the name day with produce from the East Coast. The ketch Speedwell also arrived on Monday, with a cargo of grain from Lyttelton. On the 6th instant the Colonial G° vern " ment p.s Sturt returned from the Bay of Islands,and on the same day the s.s. Ahuriri arrived from Wellington and Napier, bringing later intelligence from the Southern provinces, _ The Bchooner Ocean Wave sailed for i,yttelton on the sth instant, and the Success followed for ttie same place yesterday. The favorite steamer Midge, Captain Stuart, arrived from the Thames last evening with about 30 passengers. The Midge is the only vessel leaving for the Thames to-day. . The Alahm. —The brig Alarm, Captain Lane, has finished loading her cargo of timber at Wangaroa, and will sail for Melbourne to-day. The Petrel.—The cutter Petrel, Hayes, master, left Wangaroa~on Tuesday evening at 8 p.m., and arrived in harbour yesterday morning. She brings 11 tons gum, 40,000 shingles, 2 coops poultry, 2 pigs, and 7 passengers—Messrs. Lovy, Christie, Grace, and 4 nntivPß. The schooner Helen, from Auckland, arrived at Wangaroa on Monday morning. The Suez mail may be expected to arrive by the steamer in the Manukau on the 12th instant. The brig Rita is expected shortly from Sydney, with a general cargo. The s.g. Ahuriri, Captain Flowerday, steamed for the South yesterday, with cargo and passengers. The following were paesengers by her : Mr. Studholme, Mr. Douglas, Mrs. Mulleen, Mr. Moore, Mr. Brown Mr, Hewling, Mr. and Mrs. Clarke. The Colonial Government p.a. Sturt, has taken in a quantity of ammunition and stores for Wellington. The Aquila. — This fine cutter, in charge of Captain Black, left Kaipara on Tuesday morning, and arrived here yesterday morning, after a good rnn of 3 days. ALFRED BUCKiAND's WEEKLY EEPORT. On Saturday last, hay sold at lower rates than for several weeks. A larger than usual number of horses were brought forward, and tho greater number o ! them sold ; they were principally draught'horses of medium strength, and brought prices varying from £7 to £15 15s ; aged heavy draught horses of good i quality brought from £12 10a to £17, and a dog cart £18. At Papakura, on Wednesday, there was a full i muster of stock, and a numeroaa attendance ; prices S for young cattle were as high as at Remuera, but grown cattle were about. 10s per head less worth. £ At Remuera, on Thursday, young cattle were in lequest and better worth. Fat cattle were in full ' supply 73 head sold ; they meet with a steady sale at fully last week's rates. For dairy cows there was an enquiry in excess of supply; good animals at their 1 profit were much sought after. Long woolled wethers for the purpose of the grazier are also in re- * quest; they brought 17- each.
