To the Editor of the Herald. I Sib, —I beg leave most earnestly, through the mtdinm. of your most useful columns, to draw the attention of tie Commissioners of the City Board to the ;>ery bad (if not dangerous) state of Barrack-street. Probably, if any of the members of this model publio body themselves lived in this street, it would not be so long negleoted. I wonder, what our energetic member iB doing that he doe 3 not movo in an important matter like this, wherein 'the interests of a portion of his constituents are matorially concerned. In the absence of any other action being taken, a few cart loads of gravel might at all events be put upon the road ; and foot-paths, the latter of whioh are most dangerous, to passengers, and are quite impassable at night or in bad weather.—l am, <tc., May 8, 1868. _A Eesxdbnt,
