AUCKLAND CHORAL SOCIETY.

To the Editor of the Hehaid. Bis, —Tt grieved me very much, to see in your paper the other day, tint a " Lady Amateur " had censured Mr. Brown for accepting a fee (which, bythe bye, was a reduced one out of kindness to me) for conducting : my concert. I think ho was perfectly right in so doing ; and if ever I should come before thepublic again, I should feel greater confidence in asking his able assistance. 1 have always receivod the greatest kindness from Mr. Drown, and felt great pleasure in paying him the small fee, knowing that lie has a living to get as well as myself. —I am, &c., M. Stubbing.
