AUCKLAND CATTLE MARKET.
- Ma. ALFBED BTTCEIAND'S WEEKLY EEPOET. At the Haymarket, on Saturday, fodder was in'full supply and without alteration in values; very little business was transacted in the Horse Market. At Otahuhu, on Tuesday, cattle were dull of sale. Second class timber brought from Is 6d to 4s 6d the 100 feot ; 2 inch, tiles, 33s to 37s the 1000 ; 1% inch tiles 26s th 6 1000. At Remuera, on Thursday, the severity of the weather prevented the greater part of tho store cattle and the breeding ewes from being brought forward. Dairy cows were easier in price. Fat cattle offered in moderate Bupply but met with a dull sale, and unless of choice quality prices were lower. The fat sheep penned were of medium quality only, and brought from 10s 6d to lGs 6d each. Store wetheis, 8s each. Pigfc were in short supply and good quality, and brought better rates. MESSES. W. HTJNTEB AND CO. Have to report that on Saturday last 40 head of horse stock were brought forward, the greater number being Bold at former rates. The racehorse Koheroa fetched £16 ; 1 heavy draught mare fetched £14. Newmabket Sale.—On Monday there was a fair supply of cattle brought forward ; daily cows fetched from £10 to £14 each ; backward springers fetched from £9 to £10 each; a few two year old store Bteers fetched £0. Fat cattle.—There was rather a short market, which fetched about 40s per lOOlbs. Sheep market.—There was a large supply of sheep, which sold at advanced prices, some half-bred wethers fetched from £1 6s to £114s each. Merino wethers fetched from Ila to 19s 6d each. Pigs.—There was a large supply of pigs, which sold at former rates.
