It has been mooted that the approaching departure of His Lordship the Bishop of New Zealand for England will afford the people of St. Matthew's parish an opportunity of evincing their grateful admiration of His Lordship's able and disinterested fid/ilmcnt of the arduous duties of their large parish during the past five months. The Bishop of New Zealand has placed the Church in the Colony under the deepest obligations; his unequalled endurance j of toil and constant attention to the onerous duties of his position and calling have oxcited in tho breasts of every one interested therein feelings of. enthusiastic respect. "We trust that tho means adopted by the people ofSt. Matthew's parish will be of such a nature as will permit the citizens generally to join therein, and thereby manifest tho high .esteem- in which this great f relate of the Colonial Church of England is eld by his fellow-colonists of all creeds and classes.
