Hall, from Taranaki and the South, witli (transhipped ex Otago from Melbourne) 3 cases limps, 2 bundles timber, 1 bundle shafts, 1 case, 1 cask, 1 bundle copper, 1 copper boiler, '2 bundles scythes, 3 ditto hoes, 1 ditto rakes, 2 ditto forks, 1 ditto naves, 2 drums soap, 1 parcel, 3. H. Smith ; and a quantity of cargo for New Plvmouth, short landed. Passengers —Cvl. Gamble, wife aud family ; Mr. Lennox, Mr. Newman, and 3 2 in the steerage. —H. M. Jet-vis, agent.
ARRIVAL OF THK EG-.MONT. Tho P.N.Z. and A.R.M. Company's s.s. Egnnnl, Captiin John Vine Hull, arrived at the Mitinbiu thb morning at 7 a.m. -he left Nelson on the 10th instant, and arrived ofF Ho'jitika on the 11th, haying niafie the run down in twenty-four hours ; on account of the dancerous stato of the bar communication with tho shore was stopped, and sho was detained there neirly 21 hours. Left on the 13th, taking passengers for transhipment into the Otago at Rluff, nt -which pirt she arrived at 9 a.m. on the 15th ; left the Bluff same day at 3 p.m., and experienced strong northerly winds all th» way up to Port Chalmers; left Fort Chalmers at hiilf-piist 5 p.m., and arrived at Lyttleton at 8.3" p m. on the 19th ; passed the s.s. Tararua at half-past 2 a.m. on the ISth ; sailed from Lyttleton at 3 p.m. on the 20th, and arrived at Wellington at 1.30 on the 21st, after encountering a heavy breeze from the N.W., bringing with her both the English and intercolonial mail*, 65 passengers, and a full cargo. Left Wellington aoain on the iM'.h ; arrived at Nolson on the 25th, and Taranaki on th-» SSth. After discharging cargo she left that part at 8 p.m., and arrived here a* above, miking tho passage iu something under 11 hours. Whei Egmont left Kelson tho-e was no news of the Ruahine having arrived at Wellington. She will leave the Manuk iu again en the 2nd instant, taking down pussengers and cargo for the Kaikoura. Passengers:—Saloon : Colonel Gamble, wife and family, Mr. Lennox, Mr. Newman, Mr. Graham, and Hocknoll. Fore-cabin, 13. The's 8. Storm Bird, Captain Gleadou, will steam from the new Government Wharf, at noon this day, for Taranaki, Wanganui, and Wellington.
