ANNUAL MEETING OF THE UNITED CRICKET CLUB.

The annual meeting of the above Club was held last evening at the auction mart of Samuel Cochrane, Esq., in Fort-street. There was a good attendance of members of the club and gentlemen interested in' the game. p.. A. Harris, Esq., was called to the chair, and opened the proceedings of the evening by reading the advertisement convening the meeting, which he stated was called in voufurmity with the rules of the club.

The CnAiiiMAjj then requested the Secretary to read the. report of the committee. The report congratulated the members on the advance of cricket in the province and colony, and to the position held by the United Club among the several local clubs, detailed the number of members in. the club, and advocated the propriety ol securing honorary members. Tho eleven of the club played seven matches during the season, in six of which they wore victorious. The condition of the Domain ground was alluded to, and tho eommittee strongly recommended that it should bo levelled, drained, and permanently made before the next season, and suggested that the co-operation of the several local clubs should be invited to consult as to the best means of carrying out this object. Hall, Secretary and Treasurer; and the following committee were appointed: Messrs. iiussell, Lanltham, Winter, Varty, Branston, S. .Kissling, and T. Kissling. Several new members were then elected, and various matters connected with cricket discussed, after which a rote of thanks to the Chairman, and to Mr. Samuel Cochrane for the use of his room was proposed and carried, and the proceedings of the evening terminated.
