BANK OF AUCKLAND.

The half-yearly general meeting of the shareholders in this Bank was held on Wednesday at Banking-house, Shortland-street, for the purpose of receiving the report of the Directors, Mr. David Nathan in the chair. The Manager (Mr. Johns) having read from tho New Zealand Hebald the notice convening the meeting, and the minutes of the previous half-yearly meeting having been read and confirmed, read the following : — REPORT. The Directors havo now the pleasure to present to tho Shareholders their fourth half-yearly report, accompanied by tho balance Bheet duly certified by the Auditors. From the latter, it will bo seen that tho net profits for the half-year, after writing off the balance of the preliminary expenses, making allowances for bad debts and a reduction in the bank furniture account, amount to £2513 ob. 4d., to which is to be added tho undivided balance from last half-year, amount £13 3s. 9d., making a total of £2526 4s. Id., which tho Diroctorß recommend should be thus appropriated :— £ b. d. To payment of dividend at 10 ty cent 2228 16 7 ~ Increase of reserve fund ... 250 O 0 Leaving a balance to carry forward 47 7 6 The dividend will bo payable on and after tomorrow. The Directors have thought it advisable to convene o special goneral meeting, to bo held at the close of this meeting for the purpose of obtaining the permission of tho sharholders to call up the remainder ot tho capital of the bank—the periods at which the calls will be made being left to the discretion of the Directors.
