Threllceld & Co. held i'O-day an important auction sale, comprising tho cargo of Mauritius sugars just arrived ex Fairy Rock, from Port Louiu, on account of Messrs. Henriques, Joubert and Co. Xhero ivas a full attendance of the trade, and the entire shipment was placed at prices showing an improvement on recent suies. Wliito crystals realised £43 Is 6d per ton ; fine white counters, £42 to £42 7s Gd ; fine straw counters, £39 to £39 7s Gd ; fill'! yallow counters, £37 15s to £38 15s; socincl quality yellow, £34 5s to £36 os ; bright rations, £33 7s 6d to £33 7« 0d; ordina'-y rations, £30 10s to £31 15s ; low rations, £28 to £29 12s 6d. Soveral invoices of oilmen's stores and provisions, &c., were also disposed
of at satisfactory rates. The same firm also sold by auction, oa the Market Wharf, the colonial timber ex Osprey—scantling at frsm 8s 6d to lls 9d; boards, 10s 3d; battens, 8s 9d; weather-boards, 12s 6d; countess slates, £11 10s to £12. 'Ihe wines, spirits, &c., forming a portion of tho Eugene ot Adelo, from Havre, will be sold by auction to-morrow, Wednesday, by Messrs. L. E. Threlkeld and Co.
