IT is hereby notified for general information, that all futuro applicants for Crown Grants of Land selected under the Immigration provisions of the " Auckland Waste Lands Act, 1858," and "Auckland Wasto Land Act Amondment Act, 1862," will bo required to accompany their applications with a certificate as follows :— " I do hereby certily that the parties whose names appear in the accompanying application, have, to tlio best of my belief, each resided in the Province ot Auckland from the day of to the day of ("Member of General Assembly | or Provincial Council; Signature ofj justice of the Peace; 1 or of a I Minister of Kcligion. And further, that before a Grant shall be issued the following declaration will have to be made and signed by applicant in the presence of a Justice of the Peace:— " I do most folcmnlv and sincerely declare, that the parties whose names appear in the above application, have each resided three years in the Province of Auckland, from (date of arrival, or issue of Land Order in the case ot Naval or Military Settlers.) And make this solemn declaration, conscientiously believing the same to be true, ami by virtue of the provisions of an Act made and passed in the sth and Otli years of tlio reign of his late Majesty, intituled •An Act to repeal an Act of the present session of Parliament, intituled—An Act for the more effectual abolition ot oaths and affirmations taken and made in various department of the State, and to substitute declarations in lieu thereof, and for the more entire suppression of voluntary and extra-judicial oaths and affidavits, and to make other provisions for the abolition of unnecessary oaths."" TENDEBS will be received at this office, to the 25th February, 1866, for the PERFORMANCE for three (3) months, from 18th Murch, 1866, OF THE MAIL STEAM SERVICE BETWEEN OTAGO AND MELBOURNE, at present performed by the ' Albion' and '.Bangitoto.' The conditions of contract will be the same as those published in the " New Zealand General Government Gazette," No. 44, of the 18th November, 1865, with the exception of the duration and notice of termination. The contractor or contractors will be bound to convey to Melbourne the New Zealand Mails, leaving Port Chalmers on the 18tb June. Copies of the Gazette above referred to, may be seen at any of the Chief Post Offices in the Colony.
