CHAMBER OF COMMERCE.
The usual monthly meeting of the Chamber of Commerce was held ye.4erdiy in theii Booms, Fortstreet. Mr. David Nathan in the chair. There were present. Messrs. George Webster, H. Isaacs, Shirley Hill, alter Griihame. The Sschktap.y read tin minutes of the last monthly meeting, which were confirmed. Th" following gentlemen were balloted for and elected members of the Chamber : — Captain M, T. Clayton, proposed by Mr. Shlkiet Hiil, seconded by Mr. Buoiiolz. Mr. Robert Lusk, proposed by Mr. Shirley Hill, and seconded by Mr. Geo. Weiisteb. Several accounts for office rent, salaries, &c., were passed by the Chamber. Mr. HiHuor said that there was no other hu=inJS3 before the Chamber, lie thought it right, however, to mention that- a very valuable lode of copper had been discovered by Mr. Williamson in the Thames district during a prospecting tour made by that gentleman for gold. Sir. Woollev, who was in possession of the fullest information, would have attended, bu: i • was very busily engaged upon business of immedate importance. Mr. Woollev suggested that th«re should be a special meeting to consider the subject. The matter was ordered to stand over until some motion should be made in respect to tho whole subjcrct. The Chamber adjourned half-past three o'clcsk.
