CRICKET.

MOUNT HOBSON C.C. V THE ELDOJST C.C. RETURN MATCH. Tiie return inatch between these two rival elevens is to bo played on the Mount Hobsoa ground, College jioad, Keniuera, to-morrow (Saturday), the 20th instant. Wickets are to be pitched at 10 o'clock precisely. Considerable interest is manifested in crickcting circles with respect to the issue of this event. In consequence of sundry letters which hove appoared in our columns having reference to the first match played between these twe clubs, exception has been taken to Mr. Lankham not being of the legal profession, albeit allowel to he a professor—to the large score, good gen ralship, and skill which he contributed, and to tli« obtuseness of our correspondent in omitting to mention tho fact as the cause of the " signal defeat" of the opposing club. Tho list which we subjoin of the two elevens and which we believe to be correct, does not contain the name of Mr. Lankham, so that an opportunity will now he afforded " Kcmuera" and other members of the Mount Hobson Club of recovering their lost laurels, and to " One of the Bldon Kleven " of proving how far hia calculations on "average" are correct. Wo hoped they may be favoured with nno weather, and that the best "of feeling will be exhibited on both sides during the encounter, for nothing is bo foreign to the good old English game of cricket as hostile recrimination. The following is a list of the players : — Mou.nt Hohsox.—Messrs. Matson (Captain), Lam" bert, Farredav, E. Hesketh, C. Hesketh, F. Kesketh, F. H. Ibbctson, D. Ibbotson, fitubbings, Corbett, Harris or J&ckson. Kr hols'. —Messrs. Russell ( C. Outhwaite, White, bav;?, Watts, W. H. Kissling, Hay, Syms, Armstrong, Graham, Wilk"i? Messrs. W. Young and J.
