Flouk.—The market this week h:is been rather firmer, owins; to the absencc of arrivals from Chili, and stocks decreasing. Adelaide first brands are quoted at, £21 to £22 ; Chilian, £19 to £20 Wheat is also firmer; Adelaide-, 9s 9d to l"e ; Chilian, 9s. LmQClds —Ale in bulk is dull of pale, and prices have given way .5s t" 10s per hlid. ; first brands £7 to £7 ss. Filter in bulk is soarce, and sales have taken place at £7 lis. Bottied ale and porter are dull of sale, ami to effect large sales lower rates have t > be submitted to Brandy i- rather firmer, Martell's 7s 9d to S.s Hum is in better r.-qu.-st, »nd as stocks are small and hiuhcr prices ruling in London, an mip ovement isexpected 3u o.p.,fs 5d to 3s 6d. Geneva is st ailv at 10s r>d for first brands of low strengtas and small quantity's. Teas are very firm, and fine teas have an upward tendency. Low < ongnus are quoted at £5 15> to £ti 5s ; medium £6 15s to £7 los; good, £8 to £9; and very fine, £10 t.i £12. Migars are unaltered. New Patna, £-0 10s to £21 In Ca .dies, salt, and Oilmen's stores, there has .not been much doing, and prices rule about the same as la-t week Tallow. —Th" tallow market was much firmer today, and prices show an improvement of 30s to 40s per ton. The eau-e of this sudden rise was owing to o ders for c hili b'.-ing "teeuled, and the demand £>r the neighbouring colonies -jbout 190 casks were offered to-day, and s>,id at from £30 10s to £33 15s for beef, and £35 for mutton. Hides were very duil of sale, and most of the lots offered were passed. Over 1700 wtre catalogued, but only about GOO were sold at from os 9d to lis each.

Wo have again to report a dull sale in our markets, and transactions have been of the moat limbed extent In flour there has been nothing done execept for local con umption, and the price continues At £21 per tonA sm ill quantity or' wheat changed hands this morninc at 9s 9d per bushel, at which rate the market remains firm. Barley is in small demand at former quotations, viz., oa to Sa 6d per bushel for English, and 3s 9d to 4s 3d per bushel for Capo. The latter is in very fair demand for feed and other purp ises, Oats are not much sought after, but the price is fully maintained, and if anything, the demand is now greater th m for some time past. Prices for rood feed samples range from 3- 3d to 3s 9.1; but interior samples hive to su'imit to reduction. Hay and straw lire very slow ot" sale, and the prices are completely nominal. Oo<>d hay (country pressed) brings from t'4 Ills to £5 10s per ton, and h\ilraul ; c-pa ked a proportion:)le i> c-oa e .Mraw £3 per t in. With cheese the market is Tery well supplied anil the qiiility gener lly is very good. Piices are from 7d to 11 d per lb.
