Sir., —In my letter under the above heading, published in your issue of the 10th instant, I perceive that in giving the per centago increase of the populations of Great Britain and America, I have inadvertently omitted to mention the statistical period on which that per cen age was based. Tho parenthetical portion of the sixth paragraph should stand thus :—" gome 35 per cent, in every ten years" By giving insertion to the above correction, you will greatly oblige, Yours, ic, A. 0 June 12, 1865.
