DRURY.
[FROM: OCE OWN COHHESFOSDEST.J December 1 On Saturday tlieic was a transfer licensing meeting before Charles Mellsop, Esq., R.M., (chairman), Major Sp:edy, R.M., and M. CVlasson, Esq., J.l'. when the following eases came on for hearing. Mr. G. "Walters, keeping the Mauku hotel, applied to have it transferred to its present occupier, Mr. Pike. Granted accordingly. Jclin Love, a settler keeping a boarding-house 011 the Great South Boad, near Martin's farm, applied for a bush license. The application was supported by a petition numerously signed, as 'well as a letter of recommendation from Mr. Crisp, of Drury, in his favour. The police being in favour of the applicant gutting a license, the Bench, after some little time, decided in hia favor, lie to pay £0 for same. This being a half-way house between Drury and Queen's redoubt, as -well as being a watering place for horses, I am sure it will prove a great con eniunce to settlers going and returning from the frou(> as the house is a suitable one.
