Mr. John Grigg'a Annual Leicester and LongWooled Ram Sale will take place at tho Haymarket, immediately following the sale of Wool, This Day, December 2, at noon, CHOICE SHEEP will be penned The Rams of this fkek combine a large frame with a heavy clip of Bright Wool, and are unsurpassed in the Province. They have obtained the Highest Prizes of our Auckland Shows, and have realised a higher average price at each, succeeding sale. ALFRED I3UCKLAND. CIRCULAR. Mr. JOHN GRIGG begs to draw the attention of flock-ownera to his tale of Leicester and Longwoolled Hams, as advertised by Mr. A. Buckiand, at the Haymarket, in Auckland, on Friday next, December 2nd. The superiority of the flock has been well established, and Mr. Grigg has much pleasure in referring to the list of prizes won in the Auckland cattle shows. Both hia Leicester and his long-woolled sheep have taken at least two-thirds of all prizes in every class in which they have been exhibited since 1859, when his two imported rams carried off botli lirst prizes. Mr. Grigg can also confidently stale (hat the average weight of wool is greater than any other flock fn the province. The average weight per fleece of two rams sold this year lias been "d three sheep (being winners of two lirst and one second prize in 1862) averaged 181bs. of wool each. One of these sheep weighed before shearing, 2351b5. (age lfi months). Wa3?ied wool of this class is now worth 2s. 6d. per lb. in the iinglUli market. Pens of wethers lGlbs. months old have sold at, £3, £3 55., and £3 10s. each sheep. Mr. Grigg recommends liis Leicester rams as boiDg admirably adapted for crossing with Merino ewes ; their heads are small, and they haver naver had any artificial feeding. A. number of samples of tvool will be exhibited at the Hay market, and also three ewe hoggets intended for the Dunedin Exhibition. In order that it maybe seen that Mr. Grigg is determined to spare no expense in keeping up the character of his flock, live rams imported from the flocks of Messrs. Sandy, Tremaine, Kirkham, &c., will be penned. Mr. Grigij will be prepared to deliver next year, a considerable number of first-class sheep at an uniform price at any of the ports in New Zealand. Otahuhu, Auckland, New Zealand, November 28, 1884.
