Woolley and Co., a quantity of these poods. In some articles competition wns pretty brisk, but in others dull. Candles, (L. W.) fetched 9id. ; full W. to lid. Bottled fruit, 16s. Jams, 7s. Gd. Sardines, 6s. to Gs. 3d. Pickles, Bs. Gd. to 9s. 3d. Cork Butter was sold nt a sacrifice ; prico obtained, 5Jd. Confectionery, 12Jid. Biscuits, Bid. A parcel of Pfttna rieo wns ofTcrcd, but lb. only beit g bid, tho lot was withdrawn. Tobacco.—Several lots wero disposed of by public sale , prices for tens brought from 2s. od. to 3s. lb., duty paid ; twist (Southern), 3s. Gd. to ss. lb., duty paid. Cigars.—Nothing has been doing' in tho Manillas, prices realising too high- Ilavannah's were sold at from £7 10s. to £9, duty paid.

AUCKLAKP CATTLE MARKET. MESSES. STTAK AND HTTNTEIi'S WEEKLY BErOBT. Horses.—There was about the usual number of inferior hordes shown, hut few sales wore effected, the highest price being £30. Fat Cattle. —There was n good supply of fair quality, principally ship bullocks. These sold well, at prices varying from £14 15s to £25 2s Gd. Fat Sheep and Lambs.—A full supply of fair quality. Slieep sold nt 2Ss to 49s Cd. Lambs, 19s G to 225. Dairy and Store Cattle.—Of dairy cows Ihero were none in the market. Store cows sold at £8 to £9 12s Gd. Ditto heifers, £5 12s Gd to £6 ss. Store Sheep.—None in the market. Pigs.—None in the market. MB. ALFRED BUCKLANXI's WEEKLY RETORT. At the Haymarket on Saturday last, onts bro nht from 3s Gd to 4s 6d. Maize, 6s to Gs 6d. Bran, Is lid. Rye-grass, 9b tho bushel. Clover seeds were an indifferent sample, and sold at low prices. Not many horses wero brought forward, but those were all sold; draught stock nt improved prices; draught horses brought fr< m £a 0 to £G5 ; light harness, £16 to £25 ; hacks, £8 to £12 cuch. The Triangle was well supplied with, cattle. About 90 head calves and yearlings, particularly heifers, were in great request, and brought cxtremo prices. Several head fat cattle brought fully Nowmarket rates. F.wes and lambs brought 23s to 30s 6d each. Merino Wethers, 24s each. The fat pens at Newmarket were filled with cattle of choice quality ; at first, dull prices wore obtained, but towards Iho close of the sale, they fell 40s per head, and teveral were withdiawn ; store cattle are better worth ; diy cows brought from £8 to £10; dairy tows, £13 to£l9 , springing heifers from £9 to £13; 18-montli steers, £8; calves, £3 to £5 10s; fat calvcs brought extreme prices, from £2 10s to £5 15s. The sheep pens weie lull; about 500 store merinos biought frcin 22s 6d to 24s 9d ; fat merinos, 28s to 345. Best fatted slieep told high ; Southdown ewes, 60s to f : 3s ; hoggetts, 4Cs to 4L's each : Leicester ewes, 52s 9d ; hoggetts, 44s each ; fat lambs, 30s to 335; and the thorough-bred entire, "Mountain Dow," £84.
