NEW PADDLE STEAMER.
A new steamer is daily expected at Nelson, called the ' Nelson,' and coming out on account of the trust fund of that province. She has been built by Messrs. Richardson, Duck, and Co., of Stockton-on-Tees, the builders of the ' Sandfly ' and ' Airedale,' upon the model of the former vessel, but with engines of SO horse power instead of 32, and with 4 feet more beam, 10 feet quarter length, and 1 foot less draught of water than the ' Sandfly,' and her bottom plates are of 7-lt! iron instead"of 5-16. She has been classed A 1 for 14 years by the Surveyor of the " Liverpool Underwriters' Association."
