All the articles ollered for issue (o be of the best marketable cjuality of their seveivl kinds, and subject to the approval or rejection of the Senior Commissariat Oiiicer, ur Officer appointed by him lor that purpose, and if rejected other supplies of a { satisfactory nature are to be at once substituted ; j failing which, or if the deliveries are not made at the time and place appointed, the Commissariat Ollicer, or, in bis absence, the Paymaster of the .Ship, to have power lo purelia>e at the Contractor's expense. 2. Articles specially imported or taken out of bond for any of the above services will be free from Colonial duties. 3. It shall be in the power of either party to this Contract 10 terminate the same bv giving to the oilier three calendar months' notice ot' the same in > writing; »uch notice shall not be considered valid unless given 011 the first day of a month, and within the period for which the Contract is made. •1. On the production of the Contractor's accoant 011 the prer-eribed form, with the requisite vouchers, in a complete state, he will be paid the whole amount in one bill upon the Lords' Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury, at par, when it exeteds £50; when under that sum, payment will be made in coin. Contractors will have 110 right to claim payment of their accounts within ten days after the close of the month. 5. Each Tender must bear the bona fule signatures of two responsible and approved sureties for the due performance of the Contract, and should the Tender be aeccpted, they, with the Contractor, attend at the Commissariat Office wihin six days to sign a Bond, the penalty of which will be about one-fourth of'the whole sum that will probably he paid under the Contract. Persons tendering are warned against writing the names of proposed sureties themselves. li. Each cask of Salt Beef and .Salt Pork to be opened in the presence of a Commissariat Olficcr, or person appointed by Idm, and repacked at the expense of the Contractor, and only the best pieces will lie selected. 7. The Commissariat to have the right of importing and issuing any supplies during the period of these Contraels. 8. Forms of Tender, and any information maybe obtained at this ofiice. No form of Tender will bo issued after noon of Wednesday, the 24th inst. y. Tenders on the printed form must be properly filled up, signed, and delivered in duplicate, at this office, under a sealed envelope. Marked 011 the outside " Tender for Supplies to Ships of War," and 110 Tenders will be noticed unless made 011 those forms. H.
