General Cameron.—learn, from a reliable quarter, that General Cameron was to proup the Waikato tojliis Maori Majesty's "location" at Ngaruayahia, yesterday morning. The Makckaxt Piiot Boats.—We learn that Captain Hunt, with tie ' Lady Barkly,' has succeeded in recovering ope of the boats (a whaler) taken from the pilot station at the time when the flagstaff at Paratutailwas feloniously cut down. The boat in question was found on the beach about a mile, fromt the south liead of the Manukau. •?_ f

Volunteer Movements.—The whole of the Auckland Cavalry Troop, under the command of Capt. Hardington, with the exception of six men ■?rlio remain on town duty, will proceed to-day to Burton's, where they will take - up their headquarters for the present. There was a rumour in town yesterday tJiat tho Auckland Volunteers might be expected to return to-day: go far from this being the case, orders have "been received, wo understand, from tho officer in charge, requiring that those of tho force still in town should be at once sent out to join their comrades at the front. Independent Chapel, Albkht-stheht.— Services will bo held in the Albert-street Independent Chapel to-morrow, when sermons will be preached in the forenoon, at eleven, and in the evening, at half-past six o'clock, by tho Rev. Thomas Booker, after both of which services collections will be made at tho door in aid of the fuuds of the school in connection with the above establishment. In the afternoon, at half-past two o'clock, a special addross will ba deliverod in the Sabbath school. Commi6sahiat Stobe, Dhuey.—Tenders in duplicate for the crection of a commissariat store at Drary have been called for by the Deputy Commissary General, and must be sent in by noon of this day. Each tender must state witllin what time tho work will be performed, under a penalty for non-fulfilment of tho contract. . I lie store is to be erected near the landing place at Drury, and according to a plan and specification wlueli may be seea at tbo Royal Engincor office, Auckland. The Houso of Representatives mot yesterday at 12 o'clock, when Mr. FitzGorald's motion for ft copy of any Reports made by the Officers of die Native Department relative to the *rrest of tlw Native Chief Ihaia ; and also, for a copy of tho Report made by tho Oflicer of ihe Native Department who visited the Native Settlements of lhumata, Mangarci, Pukake, ifcc., relative to the Natives taking, or refusing to take, the oath of allegiance, was agreed to. A petition was presented by Mr. Geo. Graham, on behalf of Major Hay, complaining of the conduct of the lato Government in refusing him a, commission. Messrs. D. Bell, Gillies, Cracroft Wilson, Curtis, and Major Richardson spoke against the motion, which sought for the reference of tho petition to tho Private Grievanco Committee. Tho motion was put and lost on the voices, and tho adjourned debate on the Loan Bill was then resumed, Messrs. Stafford, J. C. Richmond, Colenso, Wood, and J. O'Neill speaking in favour of the bill, and Messrs. Brodie, Cargill, and Vogel in opposition to it. After some discussion the debate was, on motion of Mr. Vogel, adjourned to the next sitting day. The second reading of the Nominated Superintendents' Bill was brought on by Mr. FitzGerald, and opposed by Messrs. FitzHerbert, Colenso, Saunders. Fox, Cargill, O'Neill, Cracroft Wilson, Paterson, Carter, Renall, R. Graham, and W. W. Taylor, and supported by Messrs. Brodio, Cargill, Vogel, and Jolue, and partially by Messrs. Stafford and Atkinson, who consented to vote for the second reading, reserving their right to. vote: against it on the third reading, unless in committee the nature of the bill were changed from a compulsory to a permissive character, allowing the provinces, if they thought fit to receiro it, to do so, or if they thought proper, to reject it. On a division, the bill was thrown out, tuero being for tho second reading 19, agfiinsfc it 21. In the Legislative Council yesterday the Execution of Criminals' Act Amendment, the Superintendents' Incorporation, tho Deeds Registration Act Amendment, and tlie Nelson Trurt Funds Act Amendment Bills each passed their third reading ; when the hon. Mr. "Whitaker in an explanatory spoecb moved tho second reading of the Suppression of Rebellion Bill. Mr. Sewell opposed the bill, but declined to press the resolutions of which he had given notieo, not wishing them to assume tho character of a vote of censure on tho Government. After remarks from several lion, members, and some alterations in the bill having boon agreed to at the suggestion of the hon. Mr. Swainson, the second reading was passed, and the third reading ordered for Monday next.
