New Pump.-—-A pump, similar to the one in Queenstreet, has been placed over the well just shnk at the corner of .Hobson and Victoria-streets. The inhabitants of that quarter will thank the City Board for the privilege -of obtaining a supply of water fit for drinking. We think, however, that a design of better proportions might ,have been selected; the present eastings appear too slim for their base. Some provision onght also to have been made for affording a supply of water to the four-footed creatures; with the present fanciful pumps this appears to be impossible.
