MONTHLY COMMERCIAL RECORD.

There is little in this department to report. Trade is dull and quiet, but safe,—the transactions being limited. '•* general, to the requirements of the day. The Auction Marls are both numerous and active, and an immense amount of goods is passed through their agency, Mr. Alfred Huckland held his third Wool Sale this season, at the Haymarket, on the 10th January, when abs.ut 200 bales were quitted at about the same rates as on the previous occasion. There was a fair attendance of buyers, but the sale was somewhat dull. Wool, in grease brought from BJ. to Is. Washed wool f* out 14<1. to IGjd. There was a lot of wool received which was not plated in the catalogue. Mr. S. Junes held a sale by Auction (on 10th Jan.) of Loudon made Furniture at the stoics of Messrs, Brown, Campbell ir Co. Ihe invoice was a varied and extensive one, many of the articles being of a superior description. The attendance was large and the competition keen—such as to indicate a stirring rather than a stagnant marker. From our own obsetvationss, we should pronounce this sale to have been a very satisfactory one. the sum teal-zed amounted to £320.
