(From the Englishman, January 2G.J The following reached us by express about one o'clock this morning, we hasten to lay it befoie the public : — " Lahore, 16th .Tune.— A royal salute was fued this morning about eleven o'clock, for a victory gained by the Commander-in Chief over Shore Sing. A letter dated the evening of the 14th fiom Camp, states that the fight began about one o'clock, and lasted till sunset on the 13th, and that we had taken twenty guns — that the fight was a bloody one, and our loss gic.it. It was hoped that we should be able to cut up a great many of the enemy before they could get across the Jhelum. Not a word about killed and wounded."
