NOTICE, that any person or persons -L cutting, removing, or taking away Timber, or any other Property, from oft'the land belonging to me, situate on the right bank of the river Waitemata — bounded on the left by Okahukura, or Lucas's creek ; on the back by a creek named ptaha ; and on the right by the ridges Kinahura and Te Ana-horora, — ■ will be prosecuted to the utmost severity of the law. The Public are hereby informed, by di~ rection of the Governor, that a book containing 250 Ten Shilling Debentures — numbered from 425 1 to 4500 — has been stolen from the Colonial Secretary's Office, and that some of the Debentures are in circulation with forged signatures. HIS Excellency the Governor has been, pleased to appoint Mr. Wiliam Connell , to be Chief Clerk in the Colonial Secretary's Office, vice Mr. J. S. Freeman, who resigns ; Mr. Richard Field Porter, to be Chief Clerk in the Treasury, vice Mr. Connell; Mr. Geo. Sisson Cooper, to this department, vice Mr. Porter; Mr. John William Leech, to the Audit ORice, vice Mr. G.S. Cooper; and Mr. Henry James Tucker, to this department, vice Mr. J. W. Leech.
