The appeal-was accordingly withdrawn, Jamc'3. Don, whoso appeal on behalf of Win. M. Don, Windsor, had previously been adjourned sine die, was re l heard, The appeal was based on the ground that the reservist was the only employee appellant'had for carrying on his farm, as his other sons were away at the front. The previous adjournment was granted conditionally upon appellant sowing 100 acres of .wheat. The Board granted a further adjournment until February,
James Baxter Barr, Pukcuri, appealed Oil the ground of being a shepherd, The appeal, which was originally allowed, had been withdrawn on December 27th on account of appellant having been classed CI, Application for a medical re-examination, was granted. .Georgo Maxwell Taylor, Ardgowan. whose appeal had )»cen provinusly adjourned sine die, had his case re-heard. Tlic grounds of appeal were that he was the only man on the farm, and that his mother was not able to carry on the farm herself. It was staled that appellant's brother, who was to have undergone an operation lo fit liim for military service, had not undergone the operation, and that he was contract ploughing at ttakataramca. The appellant was working his mother's and sister's-farms'of 'l2 and S4 acres respectively-. Twelve acres were sown in oatj and three were ready for potatoes; there were two horses, ten cows, and eight yearling heifers on the mother's farm; and on the sister's farm there were seven acres in wheat, twelve in oats, and four in potatoes, The stock comprised two horses, eight cows, and eight heifers. The owner of the latter's farm was serving at the front, The'reservist was granted leave until the November draft of reinforcements was mobilised, *
