AUCKLAND, April 19,

John Mohr, aged seventy-live years, a recent arrival Ifrom Ngarrfawahia, died suddenly after having dinner at tho Metropolitan Hotel. DUNEDIN, April 20,

The Southland Times states that Joseph Taylor, who attempted to commit suicide at lleddon Bush last Sunday by cutting his throat with a pocket knife, died in the Southland Hospital early on Wednesday morning. An unfortunate accident happened on Saturday night at the Lillbuni Creek bridge, where a washout recently occurred, tarrying away the approach (says the Otaulau Farmer). Eobert Gore, a fencer on Wairoto Station, was leading a hack across the temporary planks giving access to the bridge, when the horse pulled back and precipitated him over the side. In his fall Mr ("lore struck his leg on a beam, inflicting a severe wound in the flesh above the knee. The sufferer also got a severe shaking, as the fall was about SOft, lie lay stunned for.some time, but was ultimately able to crawl out, and, though unable to walk, re'achel Wairoto Station about 7 a.m. on Sunday. Dr Stewart ordered tho man's removal to the Riverton Hospital.

A young man named Peter Thompson, aged twenty-seven years, whose parents' live at Locniel, but who has worked in the Invercargill district" for some years, was admitted to the Southland Hospital on Wednesday suffering from diphtheria, and died on Thursday. AUCKLAND, April 20.

Robert Wallace; aged 50 years, a native of Scotland, employed as assistant cook on the Tarawera, was found dead on the steamer this morning, William Manning Longdcn, a married man, i'A years of age, a carpenter, pud member of the Army Service Corps died in the hospital tonight as a result of an accident. He was driving a load of small arms ammunition to the defence stores when he was thrown off through the waggon lurching. The wheel passed over the small of his back ami both arms, The unfortunate man died shortly after admission.
