A, Watson (Picsintcrian niinisti'r at Warepa) lias accepted a call from tlii' congregation of the WestonTotara Presbyterian Church. At a motitiny of the Clutlin Presbytery on Friday a resolution was passed expressing ■sorrow at the prospect of losing .Mr Watson from the Presbytery, While resolving not to place any obstacle in Air Watson's way in accepting the call, the Presbytery wished to acknowledge his faithfulness for the live, and a half years u'f. his ministry in the parish of Warepa, and to assure him of its good ■wishes for his future. The sudden de;.ith occurred at Ms residence in .Mount Pleasant Uoad, Mount Eden, on Tuesday last, of the Itcv.' J. Sharpe, an old and very higlily-fespect-ed minister of■■ the Methodist Church (says, the Auckland Star), Mr fSharpo was suddenly taken unwell.' and fell down al; the gate of his residence, exp.ir- • almost immediately lie joined' the Primitive .Methoilist ministry in 187.1, : and afterwards went over in'o the United Church, and during his ininistry, from IS7I (ill his retirement, in 1910, lie had charges at Thames, Christchurch, Asliburtou, Tituani, (leraldine. Waimate. ilunedin, J nvcrcargill, FeikiSiig, New Plymouth, Auckland, and Kdeiidlilo, lie was President of the Primitive Methodist Conference in 1SS1) uml again in '1905. After his retirement in Ml) he served as a. supernumerary, and at'the : lime of his death was doing -supply .'service at Takapuna. Although Mr Ij'harpo was.an old man he bad not complained of indisposition, and his death was'consequently most unexpected.
