.WANGANUI. . December G. The Waugaoui Volunteer Fire Brigade to-day received from Messrs Merryweather and Sons (London) a new motor fire reel. 'The cost is very near £IOOO. The sew engine combines a 42 horse-power 'motor, with fli chemlical firo! extinguishing apparatus, hosa and ladders, in addition to a cylinder containing 35 gallons of fire extinguishing li#id, There ar« two small portable extinguishers carried.. The hose reel will carry 1000 feet,, hut more .can be stowed ,The ladders are'3o feet long, and are carried overhead. Everything is fitted out most conveniently and thoroughly well made. The machine is the first to be imported into the .Dominion.
