WAITAKI HOSPITAL AND CHARITABLE AID BOARD.

The nionthly meeting of the Waitak)i- Hospital and Charitable Aid Board Board was held yesterday in the secretary's office, there being present—Messrs Kraser (chairman), M'Fark-ne, Nicolson, Dovey, Pinch, Allan, C'ottrell. and Mahooey. The Chairman said th& receipts, for the month totalled £234 IBs lOd, made' up as follows: Local todies Payments, £192 Ms, IMpayments toy old ag« pensioners,,'£so 4s 7d; maintenance paid, £1 17s 'ld. The credit balance stood at £454 19s 7d, ' and accounts amounting to £238 17s 7d were passed for payment. The North Canterbury Board wrote that the. proposed conference of delegates from the various Hospital and Charitable Aid Boards will be held during tin first week of June next, when it in probable that the Government would convene' a conference.

The Otago Hospital Board advised that in future the charge for patients admitted to- the Dunedin Hospital from the Waitaki district -would be £1 15s per week, • The rorort of the Matron of the Home was read, stating that for the month four inmates had been admitted and three lejt, leaving 33 inmates -28 males and five females. Their health in general had been fair. • The following donations were- received and -acknowledged withtbanks: Passes for inmates to-the annual show of the-North Otago A. and ; p. Association; papers, . Mrs M,LoflTtey, Mrs Sutton,' Mrs P. Bond; and; a Friend - provisions,- -Mrs Mitchell; preserves, Mrs. Macaulay; clothing, a Friend. Thanks were also duo to members of St. Paul's Ohurch

for -giving an enjoyaljlp social to the inmates on the evening, of the 25th November. . ■>. • The Visiting Committer reported that they had made their ÜBUal visit to the Home, and found everything in good order. The new. mortuary and' other mason work ,was' now compl»iod, and would be a boon to the Home. ..I.' ''.Tenders 'for supplies for the en--suing six months were opened, and the following accepted; Groceries, Mr Wm. Bee; 'butcher's meat; Mr P. D. Jomston j . funerals,' Mr G.t L. Grenfell. Messrs M'Forlane and Allen were ' appointed a Visiting' Committee for the month. •
