OLD ACRES.

At the Opera .House on Saturday, evening last the Dunedin, Dramatic Club presented a very sparkling comedy entitled ''Old Acres." Thoi aoting all through was very much' above ordinary amateur form. Tho 'attendance was not as good as might have been expected on a raco night but 'on iho whole'it was a very fair houso for an Oamaru Saturday night. Miss Nottie Bundle, in the charafiter' of Lady Matilda Vavasour, was exceedingly good, laud Miss Dorothy Gardner, as her vivacious daughter, was sparkling, her interpretation of tho. part being very natural, ulliss iM. Byrne- as Mrs Bunter (an oddious parvenu.) and Mr Os--car Balk as her husband (a selimado man), caused a good deal of amusement throughout itho ovening, Jlr P. R. Fordham, as Samuel Brown (a Liverpool merchant) surprised his friends hero by his reading of the character, and was certainly one, of the mainstays oj the Comedy. The aoting of Mr W. Thomson in his particular part of a German mining agent was clever. The {remaining parts were taken by Miss Helen Gardner, as Fanny Bunter Fitznrsc; aid Morgan, as Bertie Fitzurse; Mr W. Dempster, as Mnnnaduko Vavasour; Mr Colin Gray, as Seeker; and Mr John Lorraine, as Gantry. Each of those named did justice to their respective, characters. The stalling was very effective, especially in net two depicting "The Abbey."
