Per Press Association. Wellington, May 23. Tho date of the lato Queen: Victoria's birthday, 241 h May, is to be celebrated as usual as Empire Day. Ceremonial observances will bo held in the public schools in such forms as the respective local managements may dr.citlo upon. The Government departments and the .banking institutions will all cease business,- but so far there is no indication that, the holiday will be observed generally. Floral tributes are to be placed on the Queen Victoria statute by the ladies of the Navy League, In celebration of the object of the fixture a special Empire Day syllabus of work has been prepared for study by tho pupils at the teachers' training college. Members of tho veterans will celebrate the day by a social evening at the Alexandra Drill Hall,
