Mr William Whit*, junr.. was elected chairman cf the Lyttelton Harbor Board to-day. The lad Ford, accidentally shot in Manchester street yesterday, is in a fair way to recorery. Last week 10,363 abeep were killed at the Belfast freezing worki. Thia is the largest number ever killed in one week at the works. It in understood that the proposal of tho Bishop of Auckland for the settlement of the Primacy question is that the Bishop of Nelson ahould withdraw his claim in*favor of the next senior Bishop (of Auckland), and that the latter should gtre way to the Bishop of Wellington, who could then take such steps for a settlement of the difficulty as he may deem expedient. The Bishop of Nelson is said to hare agreed to the suggestion.
