An angry altercation took place last evening between several members in the vestibule of the Legislative Assembly, wh'ch culminated in a standup fight between Mess.-s Tyne and Clarke, and Shepherd and Dawion The scene is described as a most disgraceful one. The Government has received * telegram from Home stating that there is no foundation for the report which has been circulated to the effect that the Imperial Government had promised to introduce a Bill providing for the separation of North from South Queensland.
