May 20. Mr J. Pilbrow's racehorae, Alata, has had to bo shot, he having developed string halt. During his career he won two Dunedin Cups, a Victorian Hieing Club Handicap, and an Adelaide Quaen's Birthday Cup. He was bred by Mr Redwood in 1874, and was by Deal Shot— Raupo.
